GENIUS. MADMAN. HIPSTER.
An electronic musical about history's brightest future.
BY NIKKO BENSON + BENJAMIN HALSTEAD
NIKOLA TESLA DROPS THE BEAT is an EDM musical about history’s most overlooked inventor and his struggle to realize his vision of the future. The show's modern style and score reflect Tesla's obsession with that future, translating electric innovation to electronic music. Tesla himself is contemporized as a pop-icon whose sounds pushed the limits of what his audience could handle. Alternating Current Loop Pedal Symphonies, Wireless Dance-Floor Frequencies, Mad Science Dubstep Breakdowns. Come feel the beat drop.

The beat never stops thumping and the lights never stop flashing: it's Tesla's utopian future. But is it too good to be true?
Tesla, an eager young student, can't help but see the flaws in direct current, invented by the coolest dude ever, Thomas Edison. Tesla gets bombarded by all sorts of distractions as he tries to focus on the seemingly impossible: finding a better way.
Tesla, at the height of his fame and acclaim, introduces his new idea for the radio at a party. He speaks to his adoring crowd, but his unique connectionwith Kat, his friend/publicist, is the only thing coming into focus.
